Let Me Share Folders and Portfolios

Your child will also be sharing some of his/her daily work with you through our LET ME SHARE folder. Most Wednesdays, your child will bring home the folder of the previous week's work. You then need to look over the work, sign, and date the sheet inside. The folder needs to be returned promptly on Thursday. Please note that not all work is returned home. The students and I will be selecting pieces of work for their portfolio. The portfolio allows students to reflect on their work and take an active role in their assessment. I then use the portfolio to assist in grading and as a resource at conference time.

Star of the Week

Each week I will be randomly drawing one student's name to be Star of the Week. They will be line leader, helper etc. They will also create a poster about themselves and be invited (with their choice of 3 other friends) to have lunch in the classroom with the teacher. Students are welcome to bring special "Show-n-Tell" items to share with their poster on the Friday of their week.

4th graders may choose to do a PowerPoint or a poster.
